I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE! FAMILY IS ONE OF LIFES GREATEST JOYS ! IT’S THE BEGINNING OF NEW TRADITIONS, AND A LIFETIME OF MEMORIES AND LAUGHTER .
I AM SO EXCITED TO BE A SMALL PART OF THIS GRAND JOURNEY YOU’RE ON!
LOCATED IN ST. LOUIS & AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE
Hi there! I’m so glad you are here. I am based in St. Louis and specialize in lifestyle portraits and weddings. While I may spend weekends documenting the "big" wedding day in couples lives, I have found that life really happens when you become a family. It's become a passion of mine to document the full miracle of your growing journey. My sessions are relaxed, natural, and often times filled with laughter. We might even have a little dance party to keep things light and fun because when you stop and look around, this life is pretty amazing.
YES, YOU READ THAT RIGHT. My husband is literally my best friend. We are high school sweethearts who just know how to have fun wherever life takes us. We value time together so popcorn dates in the living room have become our thing. We sit, we chat, we dream and we share our day over a bowl of popcorn. I don't need fancy dates, just quality time. I would be lost without this man, he fuels my fire and calms my storms. We dream together and I am like a child on Christmas when I am in his arms.
It is no secret that I suffer from wanderlust. I am inspired by landscape and culture. My biggest wish is to see the world and my career has helped me to pursue this. I’ve been blessed to travel all over the world to document peoples stories. Fun fact: Each year I plan about 3 solo trips (Yep, just me!) to somewhere I’ve never been. These trips are always filled with adventures and pure joy. It’s become something I look forward to planning every year. If you have suggestions on places to see, please share!
The greatest miracle in our lives without a doubt has been our son. Our journey to parenthood has been the biggest challenge of our lives and one that hasn’t come easy. Our sweet little boy influences every aspect of our lives. When I'm not working, my time is spent chasing him around, kicking or tossing a ball, riding bikes (he learned to ride a 2 wheel bike by age 2) and kissing boo-boos (see previous comment of him riding a bike by 2). We have become quite the traveling family and love creating memories. If I am honest, one of my favorite things is to step back and watch my husband play with my son. Ah, it’s just magic. I love my boy-mom life. Motherhood can certainly be a rollercoaster and I'm thankful for every second.
Booking a session is super easy! Simply fill out the contact form and I will be in touch! Please be sure to be as detailed as possible.
During peak season, session dates may be limited. I suggest planning ahead and booking early. This allows us time to set the date and discuss wardrobe and session goals.
For expecting moms, please schedule once you have announced. We will set a tentative date for the babies session. Please call 2-3 days after the baby has arrived and we will solidify your session. Newborn sessions take place within the first 2 weeks of birth.
For portraits, fall and spring sessions book quickly. Booking early gives you more time to prepare for your session
Session location depends on the type of session you book. I offer in home and outdoor sessions. For studio sessions, I have a beautiful naturally lit studio complete with a changing area, hair and makeup area, a lounge with beverages and a tv, a large shooting area, furniture props and even a bed. We will work together to figure out which location meets your needs.
Do you want to know the secret to great photographs that you can use anywhere? Neutral soft colors. Soft creams, grays, dusty blues.... all create a dreamy photograph that allows you to focus on connection. As a mama, I know how stressful planning outfits can be; however, focusing on neutrals will take a lot of stress out of the planning process as you can find these colors at every store.
I believe in keeping it easy and natural. The newborn will be swaddled most of the session; however, please bring 2 plain neutral onesies. I find the front side snap ones to be the easiest rather than over the head.
Parents look best in well fitted neutral clothing. For mamas, I recommend a flowy dress or top with leggings. For siblings, please keep the trend of neutral clothing that is well fitted and comfortable. Make sure you are comfortable and can move around and aren’t constricted by your clothing choices
No, I am a big believer that props tend to lead to distractions for kids. They often take away from the natural feel of the photographs. The only "prop" you need is yourselves. You are welcome to bring a blanket to your session to sit on if you wish. If you have a specific prop, wrap or outfit in mind please do not hesitate to let me know. We can work through your ideas and plan your session so you can purchase the items in time before the session.
Ah, the question every parent asks on the daily to themselves. Don't worry you are not alone in this worry; however, it doesn't need to be a concern. I believe in playing during your session. We will run around, dance, and keep it moving. There are no stiff poses here and chances are by the end of the session, the kids and I will be besties! Come relaxed, be sure to tell the kiddos what we are doing, that you are so excited and leave the rest to me! No bribing, threatening or scolding needed.... I've actually found the bribing tends to add stress to the kiddos as they are anxious to complete the shoot to get their reward.
